Lithium-ion batteries
The advantage of lithium-ion batteries, compared to lead-acid batteries, is their high energy density and low self-discharge rate.
Lithium-ion batteries typically require a battery management system (BMS). The purpose of this system is to monitor the voltage and temperature of the battery cells and balance the charge between the cells.
Sealed batteries
Elcon’s range of products includes sealed batteries from various manufacturers, covering a wide capacity range. The batteries are supplied either as part of a power supply system or installed in a separate battery cabinet or battery rack.
Applications can be found in industries such as power distribution, power plants, as well as automation and telecom systems. Our range includes AGM and gel batteries.
Nickel-cadmium batteries
The lifespan of a NiCd battery exceeds 20 years when used properly. The battery has a high discharge capability and can deliver significant current pulses due to its low internal resistance. The operating temperature range is wide, and the battery performs well even in freezing temperatures because the electrolyte serves only as a current conductor and does not participate in the reaction.
It also withstands high temperatures better than lead-acid batteries without compromising its lifespan.
Open lead-acid batteries
Elcon’s range of products includes open batteries for industrial, power distribution and telecommunications needs. A wide selection from various manufacturers, such as OPzS and open tubular plate batteries from 50Ah upwards.
OPzS and OGi type batteries are suitable for powering telecommunications applications, emergency lighting and alarm systems, as well as control equipment and automation in power plants, electrical substations, railways, airports, etc.
Open lead-acid batteries can also be used in solar panel applications. The calculated lifespan is at least 20 years when used properly.
